Barbados
An independent island nation in the eastern Caribbean. Barbados is home to just under 300,000 people, who speak English, with a majority of residents speaking 'Bajan', an English based creole heavily influenced by West Africa. The capital Bridgetown is in the south-west of the island, a cruise ship port and center for the trade of cotton, sugar and rum. Around the island are beaches, botanical gardens, the Harrison's cave formation and historical sites like the 17th century St Nicholas Abbey.

Iceland
An isolated nation with a population of less than 400,000, in the Arctic circle. It's dramatic landscapes with volcanoes, geysers, hot sprigs and lava fields make the country so extraordinary and distinct. The capital reykjavik is home to the majority of the population and runs on geothermal power, such resources account for 66% of Icelands energy usage. Iceland has the highest share of renewable energy in any national total energy budget.

Spain
Located on Europe's Iberian peninsula with 17 autonomous regions, Spain has a vast geography and diverse culture. The capitol city Madrid is home to the Royal Palace, to the East is the region of Catalonia, a region with a strong economy and its territory split between mainlined Spain and the Balearic islands. Officially known as Spanish, Castillan is the main language spoken by over 72% of the population and by around 406 million people worldwide.

United Kingdom
Made up of four sovereign nations, the UK formed in 1707 is one of the oldest democracies in the world. The capital London is a global centre for trade and finance and also where Greenwich meantime was established which is used to organise global timezones. English, the main language is spoken by over 1.5 billion people across the world and from that number 1 billion of them speak English as a second language.
